The Wrangling of Princess Catherine's Wedding Dress Train

Princess Diana's wedding dress is still etched in the mind of royal wedding watchers everywhere.

The moment she stepped out of the glass coach, like a piece of silk popcorn exploding out of the popping kettle,  her ivory silk taffeta gown broke loose from its cramped quarters and gloriously unfurled for 750 million viewers worldwide while her ladies in waiting wrangled and battled the 25 foot train behind her like cowboys on a Montana dude ranch.

What will Princess Kate do after that iconic moment?

If I were her, I would have a 24 foot train. Just as glorious, but a sweet nod to Mummy-in-law, who is watching everything from heaven. Diana's arriving moment will never be matched.
Princess-to-be, Catherine Middleton will create her own iconic moment, and it will go down in history.

Come to think of it, Kate being the great organizer that she is, my money is on the following:

  • The reveal will go off without a hitch
  • The train will be 24 feet long
  • The train will be accordion-rolled with well trained ladies unfurling it impeccably.
  • She will be regal and breathtaking
  • William will have tears in his eyes
  • Kate's eyes will glisten but not cry

The royal silk popcorn kernel moment:

Woah, Nellie!
